ISS is turning into a spaceport

Despite criticism of the high rate of expenditure on the ISS, it had been exploited to the full until 2020. Many stations systems were in usable workable condition, so that all five partners (Russia, US, EU, Japan and Canada) decided to continue using the ISS. The flying research laboratory has been turned into a testing ground for a new generation of missile technology, which will give mankind the opportunity to fly beyond the near-Earth space, to Mars and even asteroids. Various components are being delivered to the space station to build a spacecraft that would no longer be launched from the surface of the Earth, but from the ISS that has been given a new lease of life. The first harbinger is a small, manned aircraft that has already circled the moon several times and returned to Earth without intermediate stops on the orbital station.

Jim Myers I think that we will have much larger, rotating space stations both around Earth and the Moon, and likely another on Phobos. If the ISS is still doing science, it will be one of many, more than likely.
